Once Upon a Type...
Inspired by The Golden Sans Project, a documentation of the Gold Coast’s residential and urban signage by Andrew Suggit. I've been exploring typography and signage designs, particularly how regional styles have evolved and taken inspiration from the local surroundings. Some styles are instantly recognisable for a particular region others more subtle.

Little Solsken Loves... Esme Winter
I recently stumbled upon the lovely work of Esme Winter and I'm very glad I did. Esme created her first products in 2011 and now has a beautiful collection of designs for wrapping paper, notebooks and note cards. The patterns and colours are timeless and understated. I love them all.

Little Solsken Loves.....
Poppy Children is a gorgeous kidswear brand that I first came across a few years ago in a shop called Strickland and Holt (Yarm N. Yorkshire) and I have loved them ever since.
Their unique designs feature the adventures of Poppy and her dog Fred, and adorn many lovely products including dresses, books and greeting cards.
I particularly like the combination of lifestyle photography mixed with the illustrations bringing together the characters and products.

Sneak peek
Thought i'd post a sneak peek as I haven't for a while. This little dude was a doodle that evolved into a hipster mouse with knitted cardigan and over sized glasses. I have been enjoying designing some new characters recently and will reveal some more in future posts.

I love the unique, elegant and handmade qualities of mikodesign products. My particular favourite is the circus rabbit with smart bow tie and ringmaster jacket.

Nina and other little things
When i first came across nina and other little things I instantly fell for the sweet simple style. Based in Italy, 'biscuit sized' nina seems to have many adventures. She was originally created from pieces of cloth and looks like a little red riding hood. She can be found on many adorable pieces of stationery and other paper goods.
Below are a few examples.
